Frequently Asked Questions

What are your office hours?

My hours are Monday through Friday 8am-7pm and Saturday 9am-2pm. You can expect to receive a response from me within 12 hours during normal business hours Monday-Saturday or within 24 hours if sent after business hours on Saturday or Sunday.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

No, all therapy occurs via a HIPPA compliant Zoom platform. This approach allows for you to receive therapy in the comfort of your own home or location of your choosing and at a time that works best for you.

How long are sessions, how often do we meet, and how long can I expect to be in therapy?

Regular self-pay and insurance sessions are 55 minutes. However, EAP sessions are 45 minutes.

Initially when we start meeting we will meet once weekly. However, we will continually monitor and re-evaluate your progress, goals, and unique circumstances to determine if a more frequent or less frequent sessions are appropriate.

The length of time an individual is in therapy is very specific to severity of symptoms, engagement in treatment, and personal preference. We will work together to develop a treatment plan and timeline that works best for your needs.

What are your fees and what insurance do you take?

The cost of therapy will depend on a variety of factors including whether you are using insurance or are self-pay. During our consultation we will discuss cost and payment options to ensure that working together will work for you financially.

While insurance costs vary by plan type and coverage, out of pocket costs can range from a $0 co-pay to needing to meet your deductible prior to insurance covering services. We will verify your financial obligation prior to our first full session so that you can be informed in deciding if therapy will work for you financially. However, it is always recommended that you familiarize yourself with the mental health treatment benefits provided by your insurance provider. A list of accepted insurances can be found here.

Self-pay costs are $200 per 55-minute session.

Limited sliding scale rate spots are available if you qualify financially.

What is your Cancelation Policy?

I fully understand that unexpected delays or conflicts can sometimes occur, and while I work to make accommodations whenever possible I ask that you please notify me as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment. If cancellation is necessary, at least 24 hours' notice is required. In cases where I receive a cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice, the full session cost of the missed appointment will be charged. However, in an attempt to help clients avoid this fee, if a client reaches out to me less than 24 hours before an appointment to cancel I do provide the option to reschedule for the same week. If an appointment is rescheduled for the same week, there will be no late cancellation charge. No calls and no-shows will be charged the full session fee.

Please note that the full session fee is what I bill for private pay or what insurance reimburses me (whichever applies to your situation), it is not just the copay or coinsurance you pay.

What types of payments do you accept?

All major credit cards are accepted. You may also use an FSA or HSA debit card if applicable.

What can I expect during the consultation?

The free 15-minute consultation call is offered to potential clients to help determine whether the fit is good between me (the therapist) and you (the client). Deciding who to work with in therapy is a big commitment and this opportunity allows you to meet me, discuss what brings you to therapy, understand what working together would involve, ask any questions or voice any concerns you might have about therapy, and ultimately decide whether you want to move forward working together to tackle your symptoms and situation.

What can I expect during our first session?

During our first session we will complete what is called an initial intake assessment. We will spend our time discussing a wide range of topics including goals, symptoms, mental health history, childhood experiences, and family of origin. This process allows me to get a clear picture of what approach to growth and healing is best for your unique situation.

If you are ready to get started and leave the anxiety and stress behind and learn to live life instead of just survive, I’m here and ready to help you just schedule a free 15-minute consultation today.
